Gifted with keen business instincts and a tireless work ethic, when he was only 21 years of age Shawn and his brother Shoram founded Paramount Textiles, Inc., a textiles company specializing in solid fabrics. Shawn had previously worked for a short time as a salesperson in the textiles industry. During the six-year period when he was CEO and COO of Paramount Textiles, Shawn oversaw all company operations, including production, purchases and sales. The company’s annual revenues grew by at least 15% per year, to over $30 million per year. Gradually, Shawn began delegating more responsibility over the textile business to his brothers Jacob, Abraham and Shoram. In 2012, Shawn and his brothers founded Standard Fabrics International, which specializes in printed junior wear fabrics. This company expects to realize over $35 million in revenues in 2015, with a high gross profit margin.
In 2003, Shawn began to devote most of his professional energy to real estate activities. Over the past twelve years, Shawn has served as the managing member or chief executive officer of over two dozen real estate development projects, which span a wide range of property types: commercial, retail, residential, high-rise and mixed use. Shawn oversees all aspects of the real estate investment and development projects undertaken by the Zackary Brothers Group of Companies, and is experienced in managing all aspects of the real estate development cycle, from review of appraisals and design specifications, to the permitting and entitlement process, contract negotiation, to overseeing construction.
Combining his expertise in the downtown Los Angeles commercial real estate environment and the textile industry, Shawn would oversee the construction and development of Stanford Wholesale Mart, a $64 million, 200,000 square foot,109-unit project located at 807 E. 12th Street, in downtown Los Angeles. This project was completed in 2008, and functions as a one-stop shop for wholesale buyers of women’s contemporary fashions, with a food court and bank onsite as well. The total project value of Stanford Wholesale Mart exceeds $120,000,000, and generates revenue of approximately $8 million per year.
In 2010, Shawn expanded into the commercial finance business by becoming a partner and managing director of Calfund, LLC, a commercial lender specializing in the financing of used trucks, big rigs and trailers. Since 2010, when Shawn first became involved in the company, Calfund, LLC has become profitable, its portfolio size has increased exponentially and it has established relationships with dealers in all 50 states.
With over twenty years of industry experience, deep Los Angeles connections, vast knowledge of the Los Angeles market, and extensive relationships in the real estate, commercial finance and textile communities, Shawn is uniquely qualified to continue to execute and deliver on all performance and investment goals of the Zackary Brothers Group of Companies.
